I have Read all Ms Hawks novels. I enjoy her style of writing whether paranormal or a suspense, as Flaming Retribution was. I had to find out why someone was trying to kill Kendall. Throwing a good looking hunk in always good. Big surprise who and why someone is after Kendall. Not going to spoil the story you have to read it for yourself. Thank you Laura, looking forward to your next book.

I purchased an autographed copy of the paperback from the author before it was officially released. The cover photo pulled me in even though the blue-eyed “hunk” is probably young enough to be my son (or grandson)! The story is as good as the cover – which isn’t always the case in romance novels. The story and characters sucked me in, so it was difficult to put down. One of Ms. Hawks best!

This is my first time reading this author. I found the book very exciting and the title is great considering what the book is about. I love the hero’s name too Skye Falcon. Skye works as a stripper and a part time firefighter. Our heroine, Kendall Roberts is a romance author doing research at his club when the shit hits the fan. It appears someone is out to kill Ms. Roberts and Skye takes it upon himself to determine why. Amid all the murder and mayhem, Skye falls for the timid, yet courageous author. Though Kendall does have feeling towards the sexy stripper, she has a body image issue. She feels unworthy of the hot guys affections. Fortunately Skye is undeterred and wins the day. The story had several twists and turns….as well as an interesting plot twist that I never saw coming.

Flaming Retribution is a fairly quick read, a great choice for those with limited reading time. Kendall and Skye’s story is packed with suspense, humor, sizzle and action. I enjoyed reading this fast-paced story. Flaming Retribution is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Instafreebie.

This book was quite different than I expected. The plot really pulled me in with its twists and turns. There was a lot of suspense and mystery. I was really happy with the main lead, Kendall, as she was shown to be such a strong and stable woman. Rather than acting like a damsel in distress, she really had a level head. It was a nice difference from other books. The best part was the fact that it was fast paced and the author did not dwell unnecessarily on setting the scene or background but instead described the characters while going forward with the plot. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I thought some of the dialogue was extra or awkwardly written. Overall it was a nice quick suspenseful read.

Oh wow, what an amazing story! There are very few stories that capture my attention and keeps me reading nonstop from beginning to end. I did not take many breaks while reading this story and finished it in 12 hours.

The characters were awesome! I loved reading about Kendall and Skye. Kendall was such a strong and intriguing character. She never let her true feelings show during her difficult times. She was so mellow during those times and then broke down later when it was all over. I wish I could be just as strong as Kendall. Skye was sexy, caring, and very protective. He was swoon worthy and Kendall’s Knight in Shining Armor. Those traits in Skye are the traits that all women wish for and I just loved how he took care of a person he barely knew and never left her sight.

The story-line was phenomenal! This author is a pure genus!! She knows how to keep you in suspense until just the right time and then she left out no details either. This is an edge of your seat thriller with a sweet and heartwarming love story and I highly recommend it

A sweet but steamy fast paced tale, “Flaming Retribution” is great for a poolside treat or accompaniment for airport traveling.  Readers may be left with unanswered questions regarding Kendall’s career as not enough information about her career as an author is revealed, not even as what the loss of her personal belongings means to her future.  Skye’s curious occupations and his financial independence may give readers pause in the believability arena as to his profession of male dancer given his other stellar attributes.  While this is a “sweet” telling, readers may need a word of caution regarding the heinous crimes that lead to this plot twist.  The mysterious crime wave which draws Kendall and Skye together results in an ending readers will not see coming.   Jordyn Teel
