Some Reviews:
5.0 out of 5 stars Laura Hawks, Author, is my Favorite!
Ms. Laura Hawks books just keep getting better and better. I didn’t start out looking for Paranormal-Romance-Whodunnit books, but this author has won me over. Shifter’s Dance explores a part of the Native American life than few know about or understand. And the characters are daring and desperate at times. My husband is reading it now and he agrees.
5.0 out of 5 stars Always enjoy Laura’s stories
Ms Hawks Shifter series keep me wanting to get to end to find out the outcome . The Suspense is who is the Murderer? Not who I thought. You are going to have to read the book to find out “who did it”. There is the romance involved, of course.
5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely interesting
This is a great read that resonates well with painting each scene in my mind. I was not sure about this book in the beginning. I am so glad that I read this book.

Aurora Taylor has come to South Dakota to work on a calendar to benefit the Wild Horse Sanctuary but decided to take in the sites which included watching the bull fighting competition. With her camera in hand and her desire to catch the bulls without anything in the way she steps into the pit, an act that caused quite a commotion and nearly caused her death.
Chase White Bear is riding for hopefully second place because he has a secret identity that would surely bring what he is to the attention of the world. First place would be easy for him to achieve either in his shifter form or his human form but after a while the fact that he doesn’t seem to age would be all people would focus on.
Chase saw Aurora and saved her from a charging bull aiming straight for her and something about her just held his attention. Knowing full well that having even a one-night stand with a human was something he should not pursue, his other half pushed him to do exactly what he shouldn’t. Going against everything he knew he couldn’t stop himself and after their one-night stand, and what a one-night stand it was, it just made his desire for her stronger.
Aurora knew she would never see Chase again although forgetting him would not be easy so she decided to do her job with the calendar, another innocent move that would lead to trouble for her and Chase because she saw him while photographing the horses and her curiosity once again got the better of her. She managed to hide while waiting for the gathering she was told was going to take place with her camera in hand.
Discovered by Chase and brought before the elders she got a view of exactly what Chase and the others were because his best friend went after her as a mountain lion and the secret was now out. Death was the way this kind of situation was handled in the past but if you read the other stories in this series then you are aware of the fact that other human women have mated with shifters and kept the secret. Then there is another reason for her not to die, no I won’t reveal what that is.
Making things worse for her is that two people are found dead and she is the one suspected of killing them in addition to two deaths at her hotel. Sane minds are convinced that she could not murder a shifter but those who want her dead are not functioning with sane minds they are one sided in their thinking and that means death.
There are secrets that lead back to 1877 when a woman whose husband died was promised a new life only to find herself forced into sex with the miners. Her death and her killer have led to what is happening in the present and it is quite a story. This was a book full of secrets, surprises, romance, sex and amazing characters. I was fortunate to have read the previous books and so I can definitely say this is a book and series worth your time and money.

I was a beta reader for this book and have to say that I loved it. The imagery was amazing, the characters were great and the way the Native American culture was captured in this book was phenomenal. I love the mystery, the suspense and, of course, the romance.
It was a definite page turner for me! I was captured with this book and wanted to know more. Especially what happens with Aurora and Chase.
Overall a great book in my opinion. The imagery was really descriptive especially when the characters were described. It makes you visualize the surroundings and characters. I would highly recommend this book!
